When clicking the purple play button in the Twitch app, Minecraft Launcher 1.6.91 appears. The button in the bottom-middle is grayed out and says Loading..., the Switch User button on the bottom-right is grayed out and above that, it says Loading versions...
The Profile Editor part of the window has a blank screen
I've attempted to launch 1.7.10, 1.12.2, and 1.13.2 launcher profiles and all have had this same result. I've tried using the repair profile function, I've tried installing the latest version of java (jre-8u221-macosx-x64), I've restarted my computer twice. This issue started after updating my google chrome browser to the latest version prompted and adding the Video DownloadHelper extension to it, then restarting the browser. Also, before this issue started, Twitch was temporarily having issues loading plugins after clicking on the Mods tab.
The fix that scribbler95732780 gave:
Go into Twitch app > settings > Minecraft and locate where your Minecraft Path is. Next, open up Finder and use shift+command+g to open up a search bar, then put in your Minecraft Path. Next, put everything except for the Instances folder into the trash and delete it. Then, open Twitch, go through Mods and do whatever it asks you to install Minecraft, then launch a profile. I've only tested it with two modded 1.7.10 profiles, but it works.
After more testing, it seems that the stuck on loading bug will eventually return, so the above fix is only temporary/a workaround.

As much as I've come to loathe the draconian and capricious nature of certain moderators enforcing non-rules, I won't leave an innocent user stranded. I was able to resolve this by clearing out the non-instance data from my Twitch folder and restarting the client.
I had previously wiped my non-save vanilla data and rerun vanilla (for Forge's sake), but I don't think it's necessary to go that far.
SwitchyRoll and tanck49, scribbler's fix seems to have worked. Go into Twitch app > settings > Minecraft and locate where your Minecraft Path is. Next, open up Finder and use shift+command+g to open up a search bar, then put in your Minecraft Path. Next, put everything except for the Instances folder into the trash and delete it. So for now, with scribbler's fix, I'll mark this issue as Resolved.

Use the new launcher.
How? Updated launcher?
You can get the new launcher from https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/.

For now, I'll just use MultiMC. I'll add Resolved to the tags when/if Twitch fixes this.
