I am creating an account solely for this purpose as I am getting very desperate at this point.
I am well aware that exception ticking world errors are pretty common among modded games, but Optifine is the only mod I have installed. And I install directly via the Optifine .jar file, so I don't use Forge. I run 1.12.2, by the way.
Yes, I have searched online for hours. A lot of people have similar problems but nobody has the exact same one as mine. Usually theirs is caused by server issues, too much mods, some sort of loading error, etc.
The main problem here is that everything has been running perfectly fine... until now.
The issue affects my WorldPainter-created worlds, but before that I was able to access them without crashing. Then the worlds started crashing upon creation, but later on did not crash anymore. Now, they always crash. Give it a few seconds after the world loads.
I have been using Optifine for a very long time now, so I doubt it's the cause of the problem although this usually happens to modded games according to my research.
When I check the logs, I often receive this message seconds before the crash: "Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded?" - I have a feeling this is connected to the crash, but there have been instances where that message did not pop up. I also don't know why it says "server overloaded", since I'm playing singleplayer.
It should probably also be worth nothing that both the .dat and .DAT-OLD files get deleted upon crashing. Again, this only affects the new WorldPainter worlds. I delete all the files, open WorldPainter and export it again, but the same issue occurs.
I have 12 nearly identical crash reports at my disposal, but I'll send the latest one. Any help is greatly appreciated, really

Thank you so much for your time and assistance.
Get rid of Optifine.
