Minecraft will load all the way up to 30% or 40% when loading a world. It then freezes and crashes to the launcher. Sometimes I get the error attached, but not always.
I'm not completely computer illiterate and have done all the basics I can think of:
-Completely deleting all minecraft files in appdata and other folders
-Virus and malware scans
-Updating drivers, nvidia and intel
-CCleaner, cleaning out old files and registry
-Allocating more memory to minecraft, 1 to 10 gbs, not a single option worked
-Got latest latest Java, 64 bit
-Making Minecraft run using installed Java
Nvidia GeForce 850M, 12gb RAM, Core I7, its an Asus RoG, gaming laptop that can run other games just fine.
When I roll it back to 1.12 versions and below, it works just fine and worlds open up quickly. Its just the 1.14 and 1.13 versions that fail to load the worlds. Thanks in advance for any help. Error log linked below.
Tried the last most stable version, 1.12.2. Upon hitting F3, maximum memory allocation would not exceed 256mb even when more gb of ram was allocated using the JVM Arguments option of -Xmx. Play for any extended period of time results in a crash eventually. When I tested it on another laptop, setting -Xmx to 4G did increase total memory allowed. I've spent at least 8 hours today trying to fix this, but nothing seems to work.
FIXED IT FINALLY! Its my wife's laptop. A few months ago she had to install a program called ExamSoft for her university. It used Java as well and apparently changed a bunch of her computer settings. It acts as a sort of quasi malware. She removed it as soon as her school ended but it still had a setting that was limiting Java to 256mbs. Follow this link and it'll show you how to remove it.
