I recently received a 32-bit desktop and was curious of playing Minecraft on it. I am on Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon. I installed the Minecraft.deb package from the Minecraft.net website but it depended on Java 8, but plain Java 8 is no longer available as a PPA or in the Linux Mint repos. This same problem occurred on my other desktop, and I solved it by installing the IBM packages for Java 8 (ibm-java80-jdk, jre, and plugin). However it doesn't seem to be working on this desktop because I installed the packages and then tried to run the Minecraft launcher to no avail (no window appears). Looking at the system monitor, it doesn't seem to be running as a process either, even when I click on it. Does anyone know a solution to this?
Say something silly, Laugh 'til it hurts, Take a risk, Sing out loud, Rock the boat, Shake things up, Flirt with disaster, Buy something frivolous, Color outside the lines, Cause a scene, Order dessert, Make waves, Get carried away, Have a great day!
