I've been searching everywhere online for a fix to my lag issues for many days, but I haven't come across any luck. So I've decided to ask for some personal help or some sort of insight as to why nothing works.
Details:
When I join a modded multiplayer server, I have stable frames and no lag for about 10-20 seconds. After that, I begin having constant lag spikes every second whether I'm just standing completely still or running around. Nothing I've tried works.
I also want to add that there are times where I can run 1.12.2 modded multiplayer with little to no lag for a long time, but this is rarely ever the case.
Allocate less memory to Minecraft, try -Xmx1G or -Xmx2G in your JVM arguments.
Turn off mipmapping.

Say something silly, Laugh 'til it hurts, Take a risk, Sing out loud, Rock the boat, Shake things up, Flirt with disaster, Buy something frivolous, Color outside the lines, Cause a scene, Order dessert, Make waves, Get carried away, Have a great day!
However, I just went through each of those mods and it turns out that after removing "DynamicLights-1.12.2.jar" I'm getting very smooth and high frames.
0 lag spikes too! I'm guessing DynamicLights caused a lot of lag because it has to constantly check for if a player is holding some kind of light source.

anyone?
More RAM does not mean more FPS, it's a myth.
Allocate less memory to Minecraft, try -Xmx1G or -Xmx2G in your JVM arguments.
Turn off mipmapping.
Thank you very much for your advice!
