Hey, I've been connecting to a server my friend has, when he and another friend of mine plays in there, there's no lag, but as soon as I join it begins to server lag immense amounts for everyone on the server, no matter how many other people are on the server.
I've got the mods I'm using from one of my friends, so I was wondering if there's some desyncronisation happening between my logon, and my friend's. Or if it's desyncronisation between the client settings somehow messing with the packages or whatever.
I'm not sure which parts of minecraft that sends packages or what.

What are the lag symptoms you are experiencing? Block lag, rubber banding, disconnects etcetera.
How is the server hosted? Privately or through a hosting service?
What is your render distance set to? Is it different than other players?
Is there anything that seems to make it better or worse?
We need to know these kind of things to help you.
