I'm doing 1.12.2 with 6GB, i've tried anything from 1Gb-12Gb, as I have 16 total.
:-/
Reinstall Minecraft from scratch.
I did, doesnt change anything.
now because of that this is the new crash log:

How exactly did you reinstall MC?
uninstalled with the thing i downloaded to actually first install it,
then install a fresh one...
removed .minecraft n errything. not sure why it still wont work
I don't know what causes this but I've seen others with the same issue, which seems to be caused by a corrupt options.txt file, which I say because it refers to GameSettings and BufferedReader.readLine, and something is making the game attempt to allocate gigabytes of memory (the first report shows 3 out of 5 GB used; the JVM will simply throw an out of memory error if something tries to allocate more memory than is available so it had to be over 2 GB). If you deleted the .minecraft folder it should have also deleted the file, and otherwise the launcher makes sure that all the files (except data files like saves and options.txt) are intact when you run the game (you can't even mod the game without blocking the download of clean files, thus reinstalling is only likely to work in the case of the launcher itself being damaged; for modded versions deleting the version and reinstalling the mods should be enough). You are also using the bundled Java runtime (1.8.0_51) so that doesn't seem to be the issue either (otherwise, a bad system Java installation could cause issues. While the bundled runtime is often said to be outdated this is the version Mojang guarantees that the game to run on).
There are bug reports that mention the same error, like this one, but Mojang just marked them as duplicates of an older issue that simply tells you to allocate more memory even though that is not the case here (there is no reason for vanilla, as in your second report (the first had Forge installed), to crash with 1 GB or more or memory; even 512 MB is enough to launch the game unless you use a big resource pack). You might want to make a report that shows that this is not just a simple out of memory issue so a possible solution could be found that can be used by others in the future (unless there is one I missed).
TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
I figured it was options.txt because it wouldnt delete. yeah.
