My girlfriend has been having issues running Minecraft in the past year or so and I was wondering if I could find some answers here.
She hasn't had any issues running the game in the past, but it seems like the latest releases never work for her. She has the latest version of Java installed, her latest graphics drivers, and system updates. However, whenever she loads a world, it almost immediately crashes on her.
The only hint I've been able to find is that the game logs show a message at the very bottom:
[Server thread/WARN]: Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded?
I'm assuming because she's playing single player, this is an indication that her system can't handle the game. I've tried the most basic JVM arguments possible:
-Xms512M -Xmx2G -XX:+UseG1GC
And I also reduced her draw distance to 4 chunks, minimal particles, and fast graphics, but it still crashes immediately. I'm starting to think that the bundled JVM is the problem, because there don't seem to be any error logs anywhere. I tried the JVM found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_191\bin, but this one always resulted in a crash before reaching the main menu.
Does anyone know what could be causing the crashes?
What exactly about that FAQ is supposed to be related to my issue? I've tried rolling back to older versions, but as I said, this problem was occurring even a year ago. Her graphics drivers are up to date, the maps were already 1.13 maps, and she doesn't have any "incompatible software" installed.
