Hello, when I try to install 1.5.2 or 1.5.1 in order to play on Skygrid without all of the water blocks simultaneously updating, thus causing extreme lag and then crashing the game 1.5.2 then crashes on first launch. My mods folder is empty (just to be sure), and I've tried deleting the 1.5.2 folder multiple times from the versions folder with no success. Here is the crash log: https://pastebin.com/RkU4QWBa
However, versions prior to 1.6 do not properly work with non-default directories so it's best to run newer versions in a separate directory.

I use the default directory for version 1.7.3 beta without issue, I can't imagine this is the cause in this case then?
Beta 1.7.3 probably uses a different options.txt file, or it correctly ignores invalid settings, but 1.5 does not; the error you give is exactly what is shown in the link below:
Also, this aside, you should always use separate directories for different versions and/or modded versions - this prevents you from opening a world in the wrong version, which will certainly ruin it (for downgrading or opening a modded world in vanilla; in the case of upgrading it may make it impossible to downgrade again even if no new blocks/items/entities are introduced since many versions automatically convert older worlds).

Thanks in advance.

MCL-5837 Game versions 1.5.2 and lower crash when starting in a newer version's folder due to invalid language in options.txt

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
Thanks for the fix.
