So i'm currently having this issue with Minecraft atm, so I just recently bought the game and booted it up. I loaded up the recent version of Minecraft and one thing I noticed in particular is that I'm not getting enough FPS. Not that this is a big deal but knowing that my rig is an Ryzen 7 2700 with an RTX 2070 I was figuring that this computer would run the game without any hassle ties. Oh and I did allocate more memory from the update launcher and in Java as a whole and yet still the same results. If anyone has a fix to this issue please let me know.
If your gaming rig is a laptop, then sometimes Minecraft plays at 30fps if it is running on battery (my gaming laptop does that). When I plug in my laptop to its power supply then Minecraft runs at full speed.
Allocating more memory to Minecraft does not mean more FPS, it's a myth.
Allocate less memory to Minecraft, try -Xmx2G in your JVM arguments.
Turn off V-Sync in Minecraft's options.

1-2 GB of ram is all you need for vanilla minecraft, it should really only be 2 gb with high quality texture packs and shaders. Like what @ConnorGarland said:
I'm not sure what your render distance is currently set to (in 'video settings' menu), but try setting it to 8 or 12 and see if your framerate gets better.

Thing is, my rig is a full fledged gaming desktop so it should able to run these sorts of games at better performance.

Do that
Also check the framelimiter and of course make sure that windows is in high performance power mode.

CommonProxy and ClientProxy? nah I prefer
if (!world.isRemote) {} if (world.isRemote) {}I don't have v-sync enabled and I already set the allocated memory back to what it was.

move .minecraft somewhere else and run the game. if that works then copy your maps and such over

in %appdata% move .minecraft somewhere else and try running the game, if it works and your fps is better move your maps over and such

if (!world.isRemote) {} if (world.isRemote) {}Try updating your graphics driver, AMD graphics cards are good at messing up Minecraft if the driver is old.
