As the title states, that is the current error code I am receiving when trying to join my friend's server via direct connect. We are all running the same version, 1.13.2, and the server is being hosted on Java. I've also tried connecting by the normal "add server" option, but that yields the same error code. I've also changed my firewall to allow minecraft to run without any sort of block.
I am connected into my router via Cat 6 Ethernet cable, however, this friend lives quite a distance away, so I don't know if that is the issue.
Are you using the Server for minecraft java edition? are you port forwarding properly? Not just opening ports for firewall reasons. Kinda need more info than just your friend cant connect.
To me it sounds like the OP is having issues to connect to his friends server, rather than his friend trying to connect to OPs server. So your friend should check portforwarding/firewall etc.

Correct. My friend has had some other people join the server without an issue, but when I try to hop on, it gives me that error message.
