So I've been running minecraft and minecraft servers on my system for a few years now and have never had any major issues with until recently. I recently updated my computer system from Windows 7 to Windows 10, I had put it off for a long time but I finally had to after a piece of software I needed to run was not compatible with Windows 7.
Anyway, since the update I have been unable to run any modded minecraft on my machine. Well it will "run", but at a framerate so low that it is unplayable. I've been trying to resolve this issue for a while now and have gotten nowhere. Standard minecraft runs fine on my machine as it always has, but as soon as I try using a modpack the framerate drops dramatically. Not just in the game, the lag and performance issues persist in the menus as well before even getting into the game, so reducing graphics settings isn't going to resolve my issue here.
As mentioned before, I have previously run many modpacks and mod servers on my system for myself and friends to play on without any issues and am looking for any advice or solutions that could help.
Also as there seems to be chaos caused by the naming convention when trying to look up solutions to this issue, I am using Minecraft Java Edition, not this new Windows 10 version that I keep finding on threads. I just happen to be running it on a Windows 10 machine.
