I was trying to host a LAN server but every time I tried to host it the connection times out. I am using the IP+Server Number thing that is used to direct connect and both people were on the same WIFI network, yet it still didn't work.
The process of how I hosted it:
1. Started Minecraft version 1.13.2
2. Created a new survival world
3. Went into options and hosted to LAN
4. Combined the given server numbers with my IP and made the server address
Please tell me what I did wrong. I even updated Java and it still didn't work.

Did you allow java through your firewall?
I'm able to access online servers so it looks like it

Moderatorplaying on servers and hosting servers is different, playing doesn't need the firewall to be opened etc, so check if java is permitted or not
I don't exactly know how to check Java is permitted
So here's the specific error message:
io.netty.channel.AbstractChannel$AnnotatedConnectException:Connection timed out: No further informantion
Ok so which firewall do you have? Btw there are plenty of tutorials on the googles about firewalls...
I found out it was my firewall so I enabled it and got it and got it working. Thanks for the help!
