I thought about getting back into Minecraft recently, but after downloading both the .msi and the .exe versions, they would always display the exact same message:
"Unable to download minecraft, please try again later."
I'm so desperate right now,I have literally tried everything I could think of at the top of my head, first off I tried making a java inward and outward rule in my firewall, and then, when that didn't work,i went on and tried to re-install Java itself, only receive an error stating that "The Installer cannot proceed with the current Internet Connection settings". As you can see,it's pretty bad since even Java refuses to install itself (which could be the root cause, for all I know).
Does anyone have any suggestions on what this could be?Thanks!
Here you go. I hope this can help clear some things out, however,at a glance,I'm not really able to find anything related to the issue. Correct me if I'm wrong, though.
Disable AVG's LinkScanner feature for Minecraft to download or update itself properly.

Say something silly, Laugh 'til it hurts, Take a risk, Sing out loud, Rock the boat, Shake things up, Flirt with disaster, Buy something frivolous, Color outside the lines, Cause a scene, Order dessert, Make waves, Get carried away, Have a great day!
Hmmmm,it doesn't really work. The guide you mentioned is heavily outdated since my interface looks nothing like the one in the guide, however that's irrelevant since I uninstalled AVG completely just to see how it would react. Nothing, still.
Well,as it turns out I had about 20 pieces of separate adware and trojans on my PC,so,I guess cleaning those out was quite nice. However,as you can imagine, the main issue is still here.
Apparently it just works now,for whatever reason. I guess the malware must have been the reason, then. I remember reading about a particular suspicious file that I found out I had potentially causing trouble. Thank you all for your help.

Try running scans with malwarebytes and adwcleaner.

Nevermind.
