I am running a custom Technic modpack and am trying to get Optifine's shaders to work.
So I seem to be having the same issue as this thread here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/8ldx02/random_shadows_with_shaders/
But it was archived with no solution. I also saw a thread on these forums with what seemed to be a similar issue, but it had something to do with cloud shadows which are not actually occurring in my game and the option for them seems to have been removed from the shaders menu.
[See attached screenshots]
Whenever the area fully loads in, suddenly all these artifact shadows stretch their way to wherever my character's shadow is, and follow it around in the same way that other thread described. Most of these shadows are of 3D blocks that are underground, like all of those small square shadows are EnderIO wireless lights in the basements.
Both of those screenshots are using SEUS shaders, but I have tested this with several other shaderpacks and every one of them had this issue. I have also tried every 1.12.2 version of Optifine, I tried using the shaders mod itself instead of Optifine (but the game wouldn't even launch), disabling normal and specular mapping, removing all of the FPS and rendering optimization mods like FoamFix and BetterFps, and I have tried allocating more ram (the max the Technic launcher would allow is 16 despite having 32. Usually I run with 8-10 as the modpack requires at least 5.).
Here is a list of all the mods I am using if you want to attempt glancing at over 100 mods for a possible cause, but at this point I'm not even sure if it's a mod issue: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/13Sqyy1vT9JZketG1UBjmaBAJCajuwFRRR3gKsRfRDHs/edit#gid=148080878
And if it helps, some of my PC components are:
Windows 10, Java 8, Intel Core i9-7900X, 32 GB DDR4 RAM, EVGA GTX 1080Ti, and a GIGABYTE X299 AORUS Ultra Gaming Pro
