I'm having an issue hosting my own server. It could be a router issue, could also be a minecraft issue.
I've successfully forwarded my ports on my router, I've checked it several times. I have my minecraft server.config file setup correctly listening to port 25565. I am able to connect to my server locally, and sometimes using my public IP address.
What I mean by sometimes is this: When I restart my router, the port is open (I can tell because I'm using http://www.canyouseeme.org/) after a bit, though, of just sitting there with the server running - no one connecting or disconnecting - the port just randomly closes. I can speed up the process sometimes by trying to connect via my public IP address.
When I look at the logs on my router, it shows that it thinks there was a DoS attack almost every time I try to connect to the minecraft server I'm running, which then promptly causes my router the close the ports. I could just keep restarting my router, but that defeats the purpose.
I don't know if this is a minecraft server issue or if this could be due to my router overreacting. I could just turn of the DoS checking, but that wouldn't be very secure.
Occasionally, I'm able to connect using my public IP without the ports being immediately closed, but it doesn't happen very often.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
(Also, I'm running 1.13 and I have a router/modem combo device on AT&T fiber, the router/modem is the one provided by AT&T)
