I've never had problems downloading and running mods before, but today I decided to download BuildCraft and WorldEdit since I got rid of the outdated mods I'd used back almost a year ago when I last played. However, upon attempting to open a new world, the game crashed. I decided to try each on its own to see if they were conflicting, but I ran into the same issue each time. I then tried downloading Just Enough Items, but even that crashed my game on its own when opening a world. I've searched all over for an answer and tried redownloading Forge to see if that would fix the issue, but nothing I've tried has worked. Forge works fine alone -- it's only when a mod is downloaded that opening worlds crashes my game.
I'm running 1.12.2 and now only have BuildCraft downloaded, which is for 1.12.2 as well. Here is the crash report I've received for it (it looks basically the same each time it crashes when opening a world):

It only happens when I attempt to load a world, both new and old. I'm getting incredibly frustrated. I'm playing on MacOS. Any help would be greatly appreciated! If you need any more information, just ask. Thank you!
Say something silly, Laugh 'til it hurts, Take a risk, Sing out loud, Rock the boat, Shake things up, Flirt with disaster, Buy something frivolous, Color outside the lines, Cause a scene, Order dessert, Make waves, Get carried away, Have a great day!
Thanks for your reply. I will see if making a new world in 1.12.2 with mods will work.
Update: All is well now. Of course it would be the one thing I didn't think to try that would fix my issue Thank you so much for taking your time to help, even though it was so obvious.

Looks like you have opened worlds made in 1.13 into 1.12.2.
1.13 worlds are incompatible with 1.12.
