I was trying to mod minecraft today (unsuccessfully), and tried reinstalling minecraft to get a 'fresh' minecraft again. I copied/pasted my worlds over, and loaded one, but it stuck on the loading screen with the program (Not Responding), followed by a crash. I tried to create a new world, only to get another (not responding) with another crash. I can't load any world without the game crashing. Help!!
The problem may be fixed! I just detected some adware/shovelware that probably came with some mods I downloaded. I promptly uninstalled them and scanned my pc. Everything seems to be working now, I'll repost if there are any more problems.

(a bit emberassing to say, but) I've been looking everywhere, and I can't find where they're stored.
