I made a minecraft realm (using the free trial) on Monday. I just got on it on friday night and it was completely fine, it wasn't until sometime on Saturday that this issue came up and i want to fix it.
Note: two other players actively play on the realm and they have absolutely no issues getting on it, they don't crash either.
Whenever I try to get in(it does take a lil bit of time to load in) it loads me into the realm for around 10 seconds (everything is frozen, though, I can move but nothing else is registering live) before it kicks me out with an error message that reads: "Connection Lost. Internal Exception: java.io.IOException: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host" I use the java edition and im using 1.13.2, the latest release as of now. I've never composed a thread on here before or had this issue, so I don't necessarily know what info I should provide, so if I left anything out that would help feel free to lmk.
Very rarely but sometimes it does the same thing but the realm only loads me in for a split second (with a grey overlay) and kicks me out with an error that says "Connection error: timed out" or something similar to that
This is what happens when i use my mobile hotspot from my phone. However, I have wifi in my house (I have normal wifi and an extension of that wifi that reaches to the other end of the house, so i have two routers. I use the extended wifi).
Using my hotspot, I haven't been at all even close to getting into the realm since Friday and the problem has been very consistent. However, with my wifi, i have been able to get into the realm once in a while but not at all often. the only time its worked was when I waited overnight, it still took me a few tries to get in and it was VERY laggy (ranging from 1-2 bars of internet most of the time) and whenever I used an in-game command that made me lag or had any variation of delay, it would freeze up and kick me, usually resulting in me not being able to get back in (the only command that I've use so far that has made me crash is the /kill command, it almost always crashes me)
I haven't been able to get back in using my wifi for six hours, which is way longer than usual in-between being able to get in-
I do not get the same error message with my wifi, usually. When I use my wifi, it mostly gives me a connection/timed out error message instead. I think only a few times I've gotten the longer error message w/ my wifi
I tried my original wifi too (it is already slower since its on the other side of the house) and I got the same issue as when I use my extended wifi
What i have tried(from what I remember):
- turned off my firewall
- made sure that my firewall did not block anything that would stop mc from functioning
- restarted my laptop (from my understanding that flushes your DNS cache as well?)
- logged out & back in to minecraft
- continuously tried to get in
- waited for hours between trying to get into the realm
- restarted my hotspot/data and restarted my wifi router (the extended wifi's router)
- ofc relaunched minecraft like 800 times
What I haven't tried specifically that I've seen suggested:
- move the realm to a different world slot
- re-install minecraft
I've watched so many videos and looked over so many threads, nothing has worked.
keep in mind this is a REALM and not a server with a server address
I've used minecraft realms before (one that I didn't create) a longlong time ago, at the time I didn't use my hotspot so it had been on my extended wifi and I never had issues with this. I can also log onto servers just fine, its just this one realm
I'm the creator of the realm and like i said, none of the other two people playing on it have had this issue or any issue, even. I've spent 3+ days days trying to fix this and nothing has worked or improved. pleas help me
edit on Monday: I waited overnight, which would usually give me an hour on the realm with my wifi. hotspot isnt working still and now my wifi isnt working even with hours between trying to get in, which would usually help. nothing is working now. :")
I don't think it should be a network/connection issue, I tried two completely different connections (hotspot/wifi, they aren't connected to each other in any way) but I checked it out and to see my results I had to make an account so I'll do it sometime this week. Ran out of time today. I'll get back to you within the next few days

Post the results of speedtest.net.
