So, I'm trying to play my LAN modded Minecraft server on my laptop that I have been playing with my girlfriend on for a few weeks now. The world is NOT hosted on my laptop; it is hosted on another computer at my house. However, when I go to my college dorm and try to load up the world in singleplayer (I take the save from the comp. at my house to my laptop), I have my skin, but have her items in the inventory, despite having my username. I've looked around online and saw that there is some player data that you have to manipulate or whatever but I didn't really understand it. I've tried hosting an ad-hoc network with two laptops at my disposal but that also does not work.
I did however use NBTExplorer to investigate the playerdata folder with the two .dat files. They are almost identical, down to the numbers. Why is this?
Going further into the level.dat file, I saw that, within the data.player section, there is only ONE player "section" as opposed to two (for two unique players) (this is different from the playerdata folder). Why?
