Hi. I downloaded and installed the latest edition. When I try to open Minecraft, the Minecraft Launcher window comes up and says Loading. This doesn't change. Here are the contents of the launcher_log.txt:
[1102/221027:INFO:LauncherAppBrowser.cpp(24)] Work dir is C:\Users\Matt\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft
[1102/221027:INFO:ClientHandler.cpp(859)] Init: Failed to read preferences: The system cannot find the path specified
I've had a problem playing the game for awhile now. I was using the Minecraft Launcher 1.6.73-j, but it won't update now and the version that runs doesn't support Realms anymore apparently.
I figured out that it was a problem with my profile, which was really a problem with my Win 7 install. After I got it running on a new profile that couldn't even run explorer.exe, I figured I should finally update to Win 10. That's where I'm at now. I upgraded to Win 10, did a clean install, and everything is running fine.

Grab the new launcher from minecraft.net.
If they did update the launcher in the 8 hours between our posts, it still doesn't work.
