"Out of memory error" means that you need to allocate more RAM to this version. In case you don't know how (I've only just figured it out myself) :
Open your launcher.
Click the "Launch Options" button.
If you haven't already, click "Advanced Settings". You will see a warning message, just accept it.
Select your profile and click the "JVM Arguments" button beside it.
One of the statements in this line will read "Xmx1G" . Chance the 1 to a 2 (you need to use your arrow keys to get there) .
Save your profile.
