Hello, I run a private server for myself and one other person. We use a few mods through forge like backpacks and some weapons. Nothing very game-changing. Outside of our "settlement" mobs spawn like crazy, usually, that's where we spend the most time. Mobs are frequently spawning in groups like 5-6 skeletons all next to each other with another 7 creepers in one little bunch and those bunches are spread out across our whole map. We have no problem with hostile mobs but in such a large quantity it has become a hassle and unplayable. The fun is sucked out when you have more than one or two skeletons pushing you around while you're trying to kill a mob of zombies and spiders, running from creepers who are about to blow up and witches poisoning you all at the same time. I really don't think this is normal, but I just started playing Minecraft java recently again since a year or two. There are also groups of houres or even alpacas like a few blocks away from each other, where's the fun in looking for them when you see them all the time? Is there any solution to this madness? Please someone help me out, I've been looking everywhere for a solution and have found nothing.

Turn down the difficulty. Otherwise post more debug information like the mod list.
