I am playing with a bunch of mods I installed from several sources. (mostly CurseForge). I believe I have around 184 mods.. My computer has recently gotten a major upgrade to graphics, so I can play my game without ANY fps drop even with VERY high level quality shaders...
What I have noticed is that even though my game runs very well when I am actually playing. It takes almost ten minutes for Minecraft to even start up.. (that is.. to get to the main menu after hitting PLAY.)
I do get a period of Forge seeming to freeze up when loading the Model manager. and that is what causes the long load time.
I have a good GPU for playing minecraft and 32GB of RAM for my entire computer, of which I have allocated 4GB to Minecraft.
I also run the latest Java 8, and my Operating System is Windows 10.
I just need to have a good way to reduce loading time for my mods.

With 184 mods, the initialization time is bound to be a long one. It's possible that more memory allocated could help, but I wouldn't expect it to get much faster.
