I'm having issues connecting to servers, I used 1.8.9 optifine and 1.12.2 modded for Technic Launcher. Basically what happens if when I hit multiplayer, it will try to connect to the server but it won't, it will take at least 10 minutes before it does after refreshing. When the server finally does connect on the multiplayer, I try to join but all it shows is "Connecting to server..." before telling me "java.net.SocketException: Network is unreachable" or something like connection refused. I don't know what to do! Please help
Unfortunately I cannot find or think of anything else, my best guess is it is a problem with the server. Maybe try Dinnerbone's server-pinger: https://dinnerbone.com/minecraft/tools/status/
Read through the minimum system requirements, possible program incompatibility and graphic performance. Also, try updating your java and graphics drivers and try again. If that doesn't work open your task manager and see if there are any processes going on that could be maxing out your cpu and close them.
That FAQ page also said that if after troubleshooting you're still having issues launching Minecraft you can try looking for help here: https://minecraftirc.net/minecrafthelp/landing/ Not that we won't try but it's always good to have a fallback in case we can't help

Your Optifine probably has nothing to do with it since it is client-side. Maybe try flushing your DNS cache? Are you using Windows or Mac?
Running on windows, I'll try flushing my DNS cache.
Flushing the DNS cache didn't do anything. :/
Re-installing minecraft didn't work, went ahead and reset the router and that didn't work

I'll try it but the thing is it just started randomly a week ago, I was completely fine before then. :/
