Hello guys first of all I'm new to this forum and also new to minecraft java edition I use to play minecraft windows 10 until I found out that there were multiple minecraft versions and the official pc version was minecraft java edition. Now the things that bother me are... for some reason minecraft windows 10 edition works way smoother then minecraft java edition on my computer I have forge and some mods installed on java edition but even without the mods minecraft still lags now it doesn't lag alot but I just want a way to make this version run smoother because I've been working on a huge structure on windows 10 *it's a prison* and I reckon the world is going to lag if I attempt to rebuild it all so before I rebuild it i want to know if it will actually work because if not why should I bother trying right?
My question is do you reckon these specs will run Java Edition
Computer Name: LAPTOP-9JPERUBV
Operating System: Windows 10 pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 17134)
System Manufacturer: Lenovo
System Model: 80XR
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU N4200 @ 1.10GHz (4 CPUs), ~1.1GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
Direct Version: DirectX 12
All done this is all the system information I could get just give me a simple answer to.. can i run minecraft java edition or not and if so why does my fps go down do i need a simple texture pack or something? I've noticed when I'm in mainland around grass and animals and flowers my fps drops to 7/9 it doesn't lag alot but it lags just a little bit but it's annoying the only thing I can think of is getting a better texture so all these things arnt conflicting with my graphics card
The project I'm working on... you could say it's going to be huge so will and does lag drop if I generate huge structures?
you could look into the optifine mod it helps with performance issues. also make sure youve tinkered around with the settings. like dont expect to be running at a high render distance with those specs. fast graphics make nearly no difference visually but give better performance. enable vbos. and since you have 8 gig of memory i suggest you allocate 2 gigs to minecraft. That's really all that there is for you to do. The java edition is alot less optimized than the bedrock edition which is why youre seeing this performance difference.
Like it's weird when I go into a forest or something my fps goes all the way from 7 to 60+ but when I'm on flat land with nothing around me but gravel, stone, grass, flowers my fps goes down and yes I do have optifine my computer can run it really well it's just some of the mods I have lag when I place a block down like tinsel it lags to about 20-40 if I put too many fairy lights or little things like that *I did this after I posted this comment seems to be I have hundreds of apps running in the background and stuff. I had 115GB used turned off all these background apps and it dropped all the way to 38GB now I still am tweaking with my laptops systems since I got alot going on in the background

Your computer does not meet Minecraft's system requirements https://help.mojang.com/customer/en/portal/articles/325948-minecraft-java-edition-system-requirements
