Decided to fire up minecraft with the wife. We installed the twitch launcher and fired up a few mod packs. problem is when she gets in game (actually in the server) her fps drops to 1 and her GPU maxes out at 100%.[/p]
She has a i7 7700k , 16gb of ram and a RX580 so it should not be a problem. Tried messing with ram settings giving it more, tried launching into game without twitch app and just FTB app. and no dice.[/p]
There should be no reason at all that when she enters the server her Java maxes her GPU at 100% and lags to all hell.[/p]
We tried uninstalling the game, updating drivers, updating java, reinstalling java.... Please help a bro out here so i can play some minecraft with the wife.[/p]
In the launcher click "Launch options" but before you edit a profile, enable "Advanced settings". Now when you edit a profile, it will display some additional settings you can modify including JVM arguments.

Post a screenshot with F3 enabled and your JVM arguments.
Does this issue also occur if she plays singleplayer? (That may be an important detail to know.)
happens when she plays singleplayer too. Whats the easiest way to look at JVM arguments?
