Finally purchased Minecraft for real, and I'm excited, despite the payment issues I went through for about 3 hours. I get to finally play with my friends on this friendly server they'd been talking about for about a year now.
Thing is, every time I connected, I would get immediately disconnected.
Every so often, more rarely then I'd like, the server will allow me to stay for as long as a couple of hours. They let me stay in their mansion, make a room, and now I'm trying to construct my own home.
I don't have a lot of time in the day and I've been researching ways to consistently stay in the server, especially while others are connected.
I've tried my satellite internet, since wi-fi is supposedly more reliable than mobile hotspot. Same problem.
I've tried making firewall exceptions, even dropping the firewall completely. Same problem.
It happens whether there are people online or not.
I've thought of port forwarding, but don't know any dependable sites or programs. I hear Optifine causes more network problems than it solves.
Every video and forum that I read so far has irrelevant information. I spent hours on this, maybe I suck at research, I dunno. I just know I can't figure this out no matter what I've done [In hindsight, restarting my computer and attempting to connect dozens of times isn't much, granted.]. I was hoping this problem would be more common or easy to solve, but in case it isn't, I've decided to make a post on the issue.
I'll try to provide as much information as I can. I'm not very good at troubleshooting or providing logs. I can't find any legible ones. Maybe we can start here.
My computer is a Windows 7 2012 HP Pavilion. I'm using Minecraft 1.13.1, and I have a Sprint 4G mobile hotspot. I also have a Hugesnet 5G Wireless Router. The server is Vanilla Minecraft. I don't know much except it's run by a professor of the college we used to go to.
Long story short, I cannot connect to a server and I don't know why.
Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
Look. I am using 4G LTE mobile hotspot. My Hugesnet internet connection is more consistant, but much slower latancy. Even so, it should be able to access ANY multiplayer game that mobile hotspot can't, and I still have this problem.
So no. I don't think prehistoric internet is the problem.
Even if it is, you could tell me some troubleshooting methods, or maybe show me a program other than speedtest that can help me configure my internet, I don't know. Anything other than "haha tough luck buddy"

Post results from speedtest.net.

**Update: Reinstalled Java and Minecraft completely. No avail.
That internet speed is from the early 2000s, get an actual internet access if you want to play multiplayer.
Well thanks for nothing.
