Right so I have had Minecraft on this laptop for a few years now and suddenly it stopped working. I did a troubleshoot and was informed that Minecraft is incompatible. Why would this be an issue? What could cause this issue? I have tried to correct it but uninstalling and reinstalling the program but still I have the same issue. Could it be a software problem?
My laptop is Windows 10 and I have tried running it through twitch (to use mods) and regular Minecraft, neither one worked due to incompatibility.

Say something silly, Laugh 'til it hurts, Take a risk, Sing out loud, Rock the boat, Shake things up, Flirt with disaster, Buy something frivolous, Color outside the lines, Cause a scene, Order dessert, Make waves, Get carried away, Have a great day!
I used the troubleshoot program that came preinstalled on this computer lol
Also as said previously, I have restarted Minecraft multiple times, uninstalled and reinstalled it and the problem persists. Anyway yall can put me in direct contact to Mojang? Email preferably.

So a third party program that's nothing to do with minecraft?
What problem exactly? What happens when you try to run minecraft?
…..No offense but yall aren't very helpful. I don't know how else to be anymore clear. The troubleshooter is standard on all computers and is a function designed to target a problem in any program you choose and FIX it. The troubleshooter has informed me that Minecraft is incompatible, I try to run the program and it won't even launch. Just the icon shows up at the bottom. That's it. No window opens or anything, just an icon appears on the action bar.
No offense, but we are not psychic. We cannot telepathically see what happens on your computer. If you would tell us in your original post what exactly your issue is with minecraft and not what a useless troubleshooter told you, your issue would've been resolved by now.
"I try to run the program and it won't even launch. Just the icon shows up at the bottom. That's it. No window opens or anything, just an icon appears on the action bar." Why couldn't you say so right from the start?
If you can't see the window, then right click on the icon and select Maximize to show the window. If you don't see the maximize option, hold down the shift button, then right click on the icon and select Maximize option.

Minecraft is not, and never will be, compatible with windows, it is compatible with the Java VM, which runs in windows.
- you have failed to provide any information about your computer.
- what processor?
- what version of windows 10?
- what version of Java?
- do you even HAVE java?
- how much RAM?
- what GPU?
- you have failed to provide a crash report
- you have failed to provide a screenshot
- you have failed to provide useful information when people asked for more information. and when you finally DID give even a tad of information you complain that nobody is helpful or helping.
RECOMMENDATION:
from the very small amount of info you gave, all i can say is;
I'm not sure what version of Java but I did update it quite recently so let's say the newest version
Obviously I do have Java because as previously said, I updated it lol
4GB of RAM
There is no crash report because as I keep saying the launcher won't even launch.
Also I said no one is helpful because I keep describing the problem but people keep asking what the problem is.
And yes it was compatible with Windows 10 because Minecraft has a Windows 10 version available. I'm trying to run Minecraft through Twitch, it won't work with what I have though. I have to revert the launcher to Windows Service Pack 3 in order for the launcher to actually launch instead of just producing an icon at the bottom.
Before we had all the information it was equivilent to you taking a car to a garage and just saying its not working and thats all, not giving hints to anything else.
So my computer is obsolete for running Minecraft even though I got it a couple of years ago? What is specifically wrong with my computer then? I clicked the link and checked the requirements against my system info but don't see any problems.
Sorry for coming across as a jerk earlier in this thread. Turns out I wasn't helping yall which in turn could have helped me.
Okay is there any way to update it without buying a new laptop?
There will be ways to do this, the question is whether upgrading your current laptop will cost enough less than would buying a new one to make sense.
The simplest way to determine this is to take a printout of your requirements [I'd recommend updating to the recommended, not minimum requirements] and your laptop to a local computer store that does repairs/upgrades and asking what it would cost to make the changes. [Substitute the company computer guru or a friend's techno-genius kid if that makes more sense to you.]
Then compare the cost of upgrading to what it would cost to buy a recommended level 'new' box. [Quotes on new as you may be able to find a used computer that works, particularly if you have a computer savy acquaintance helping you.]
Then it's just a matter of deciding which option (upgrading vs getting another/new computer [which would leave you your current laptop for other tasks] ) you prefer.

most laptops are not upgradable as its all built to fit and not plugin parts like a desktop, there are some laptops that can have cpu swaps, but most don't.

Moderatorand how do you know its incompatible? an error message or something? or are you just assuming it from the game requirements?
I ran a troubleshoot program that said "Minecraft is incompatible".
Run the game and see if it works. No need for fancy troubleshooters.
That troubleshooter program seems legit...
Don't use that.

Curse PremiumThe Window troubleshooter isn't that good, Minecraft is surely not "not" compatible.

ModeratorNow you have given real information like specs its easy to give an answer.
that answer is.... Your computer is below the requirements for minecraft.
https://help.mojang.com/customer/en/portal/articles/325948-minecraft-java-edition-system-requirements
You need a newer computer.
Before we had all the information it was equivilent to you taking a car to a garage and just saying its not working and thats all, not giving hints to anything else.

ModeratorYour computer is below requirements, not sure what else there is to say there....
Your CPU = Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU N2840 @ 2.16GHz
Minimum Required CPU = Intel Core i3-3210 3.2 GHz
Benchmark comparison = https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/Intel-Celeron-N2840-vs-Intel-i3-3210/2388vs1865
Your CPU has a benchmark 1/4 of the minimum required CPUs benchmark
