So, whenever I try to play on a server, after a random amount of time everything will freeze (except me), and I'll get kicked. This is the message that shows up:
[ERROR: Internal Exception: java.io.IOException: an existing connection was forcibly closed by remote host]
What can I do to fix this?
Also, I was looking at a guide on the Hypixel forums, but:
a) This error is the one thing it doesn't have, and
Aaand now the problem's back. I literally got disconnected 5 times in one BedWars game. It got so bad that the last time I logged on I got disconnected 1 second after I joined.
If this is a bug with Minecraft itself, it seriously needs to be fixed. And if it's my internet, then I literally don't know what to do. This problem can happen when I'm either 2 floors above my router or 5 feet away from it.
your wifi router may be flaking out on you or your ISP is having issues, if you are running windows you can open a command line and type
ping google.com /t
this uses the ping command to get the length of time it takes your connection to reach google and back and does it forever, if when you get kicked from minecraft the graph shows a massive ping increase it means somewhere between you and the internet there is an issue
you can also do
ping <your router ip> /t
this will find out more spesificly if it is your router causing the issue
chrome does not need a constant connection and is fault tolerant, because minecraft is an online game it needs to get its data on time reliably or there will be problems, you may just need to restart your router, unplug it for 15 seconds (time it) then plug it back in and let it fully restart. see if that helps

I post things about stuff. Exciting, I know.
This might be a bug as filed on Mojang MC-38565

I would check the rules of the server, and ensure you are not using any 'extras' such as x-ray or the like. You may be getting auto-kicked.
I'm not using anything extra that isn't allowed on Hypixel. All I'm using is the Badlion client, which Hypixel himself said is allowed. (Here's his tweet about it btw): https://twitter.com/hypixel/status/977805204606345216?lang=en
Huh. Weird. But I never experienced this bug before August, so idk what could've changed.

Moderatorand do you get the same issue when using the official client? not a modified one?
Yup. The same thing happens for 1.8 with or without OptiFine.

Ok now the problem has gotten even worse. Before, it kept kicking me every 5-10 minutes. Now it's kicking me every 30-60 seconds.
What could I possibly do to fix this?

possibly your connection strength, perhaps check with your ISP to see if there are issues.

Most of the time, the time is about 15-25. But every so often it spikes up.
Great. So I need a new router. Lol like my parents will ever get one.
It's just weird how this only affects Minecraft, and not Google Chrome.
