Hi. I have been playing minecraft since the release of 1.7, but have been stuck in 1.8.9 for YEARS. When 1.9 was released i was excited to play it but when i loaded it the menu screen was lagging really bad. I ignored this and tied to go on the hypixle server. The lag made it impossible to move anywhere and within 30 seconds my game crashed. It did this every time i tried using 1.9, 1.10, 1.11 and 1.12. I connected Mojang for the problem (around the time Microsoft bought mojang) and all they told me was to buy a new Microsoft computer that can run the game. This was back in 2016. I was 12. They told a 12 year old to buy a $500 computer if they wanted to play there game at all, and that was the end of it. Now with the realse of 1.13 the menu screen isn't lag but the single play and multiplayer servers are. I was wondering if there is anyway to fix this without buy a new computer. I play the java pc edition.

Check the Minimun and Recommended specs for Minecraft. Since 1.8 the game become more demanding.
