Hello me and my friend have been trying to deal with this problem all day, when she woke up this morning her minecraft would work when she pressed play, but the game would never open, we tried this alot of times hoping it would open, a few minutes later when she pressed play again it said there was another game running in the background and asked if she was sure she wanted to play anyways. but still, nothing would pop up. me playing minecraft for awhile decided to help her use some old tips, i cleaned up her .minecraft folder and reinstalled all the versions she uses, still nothing would pop up next we deleted all the folders and reinstalled them still nothing. we updated java, still nothing. we cleaned the PC's junk, nothing, finally now we decided to reinstall the full game. STILL doesnt work. i dont get why its running in the background but wont load on the screen, its not like shes using 2 monitor's its just a laptop, with decent specs like: 4 GB of ram and a intel i5 core processor. shes extremely fustraited. if someone knows what to do i'd very much love some help, im trying to play!!
Also some side notes: its a brand new laptop
and yes we used task manager to close the running java(TM) binary which is minecraft running. but yeah wont pop up, and also when we tried installing a version we havent played or loaded ever it just sat loading at the Mojang screen and said "minecraft Not responding" i tried to wait it out but it took about 10 minutes and still nothing showed up.

Make sure you don't have any other background processes open.
Disable Discord in game overlay or shut down Discord from Task manager.
Run a scan with AdwCleaner and Malwarebytes to remove any malware found.
Make sure you have the latest graphics drivers.

Right click on the icon and select Maximize to show the window. If you don't see the maximize option, hold down the shift button, then right click on the icon and select Maximize option.

Minecraft may be minimized.
