I recently had to reinstall Gentoo and thus had to redownload Minecraft. But it dosn't look like Mojang are using .jar files anymore? If they are, please give me a download link as I was unable to find one. I can see here https://minecraft.net/en-us/download/ that under "Other Linux Distrobutions" that you need to download the raw launcher files. However when I try running them I get the error
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::runtime_error'
what(): locale::facet::_S_create_c_locale name not valid
Aborted
Because Gentoo, being the minimal distro that it is, I assume i'm missing some of the dependencys that Mojang helpfully don't seem to have listed anywhere. If somebody could help that would be great

To fix this problem. Install Mac OS X or Windows. Then you should be able to play the game with no problems
