Everything I have seen states that treasure maps have an 'X' to indicate an approximate area for the hidden chests. However, my maps do not show an 'X' but rather a red square. Is there something that I'm missing with this or is something wrong with the game. I can't find a single instance where another player is having this issue.

its possible the mod that places the treasure isn't setup right, but without knowing what mod it is makes it hard to answer whats going on
I appreciate the response. No mods, and this is on a single player game. This is plain vanilla MC.

is this a new world, or an old world? and if old are you looking in new chunks generated after the 1.13 update, or old chunks?
This is a brand new game, created after the update.
TTT still having the issue.
