So I decided to play some Minecraft earlier and opened up the old 1.6 launcher that I usually use and whenever I interacted with it, it opened up my browser to download the Minecraft installer. It was working fine an hour or so earlier. Any suggestions?
The old launcher has been depreciated and now if you want to play 1.13 you need the new launcher, so this is likly why its automatically trying to put the latest launcher on for you
I can play 1.13 just fine on the launcher. They both work the same general way. It's just stupid that they're trying to force it on people like this. The notification at the top was enough.
