Hey! Lately I've been experiencing a problem where I cannot hear ANY sound in the game. This is what I have tried to do:
Restarting PC
Uninstalling minecraft and deleting all of it's files
F3 + T
F3 + S
F3 + D
Tested 1.8, 1.8.9, and LabyMod 1.8.9. I also the latest version and that didn't work too.
Changed microphone format to 2 channels, 16 bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality)
Using different microphones
Checking volume mixer
Enabling and Disabling microphone in Playback Devices
Checking Minecraft audio settings
Changing Mipmap levels
Trying old launcher
(This is only the stuff at the top of my head, I'll edit once I remember new things)
Apparently this problem only occurs in MC, as I can hear perfectly in YouTube and other games. Any suggestions on what to do right now? I'm lost
For me I always check if the Master Volume or Individual Sounds are working and restart Minecraft.
Otherwise the Windows Sound Settings.
I sometimes have struggled but after doing these 2 obvious things that yes you have tried, I don't usually have many more problems than that.
But the fact you have tried those options and more it does seems odd yes.
Maybe its something in the files sound setting values, more so than what displays in the settings in-game?
This does seem very odd. I don't have many other suggestions since you seem to have covered most of the key factors to seeking why it wouldn't be working.

How do I find the sound setting values in the minecraft files?
