My computer 8gb RAM and i allocated 6gb to minecraft, but when i open the game it only uses 512mb. I can fix this by reinstall java, but it keep reseting to 512mb in the next day. Anyone know how to fix? Cause i have no idea at all
You have -Xmx512M in the _JAVA_OPTIONS variable in your environment settings, To remedy this,
Uninstall Razer Synapse / Cortex if you have it
Press the Windows key and the Pause/Break key simultaneously
A window should popup, click on "Advanced system settings"
Click on "Environment Variables"
Delete the _JAVA_OPTIONS entry.
Allocating more than half of the system RAM is not recommanded, use -Xmx4G in your JVM arguments.

If yes, make sure you're not setting it in the Minecraft launcher because the Twitch client overrides it with whatever is set in the client's settings!
In the client, go to settings > Minecraft and increase the slider for "Maximum memory allocation" under Java Settings!
You can also add JVM arguments in "Additional Java arguments" under Advanced.

Did you mess with _JAVA_OPTIONS?

You use the Twitch client?
