Hi, I am having some very weird and uniquely unreported graphical errors, I will break down the information in the following post and hopefully someone with extensive knowledge can assist me.
PC Specifications
I have recently built a new PC with the following specifications: [imgur]
I am currently running the following versions:
Minecraft 1.12.2
Java version 1.8.0_172 64 bit
Windows 10 Professional
Screenshot with F3 enabled [imgur]
The Graphical glitches - Player models have missing limbs [imgur]
- Player models and models of mobs/chests/beds disappear
- Models of all players, all mobs, beds and chests become increasingly distorted [imgur]
Upon starting the game the main graphical glitches that happens are missing limbs from mine and other player's models, these glitches occur and then increasingly become more severe. While playing, doing anything like travelling to the nether causes the models to disappear. All player models and mob models become invisible. Continuing playing in this state causes awfully distorted graphics, it seems the distorted graphics happen gradually through a play-through.
The glitches happen 90% of the time and trying to recreate the glitches is incredibly difficult. Sometimes the game will run perfectly fine for 4 hours and then the glitches start cropping up and other times the game loads with very distorted glitches with no gradual change.
I can confirm these glitches are happening in both modded and vanilla minecraft.
Attempted fixes
- Fresh install of minecraft including deleting every last trace of it
- Fresh install of Java and installations of older versions of java
- Fresh installs of updated GPU drivers and also trying older drivers
- Verified windows integrity
- Changing video settings [I have tried everything, from high to low settings; mipmap on and off; AA on and off; changing resolutions; Vsync/gsync ]
- Changing settings in the Nvidia control panel
- I have ran memtest on RAM [0 Errors]
- Checked for GPU artifacts [No GPU errors on any other games and none on stress testing software]
Thoughts I've been trying my best to find a solution for this but nothing has popped up, after googling my issues only 1 person seems to have reported the same issues as me who also has a very identical system to mine [minecraftforum.net] although I've had no luck trying to get the OP to reply to my message.
Other users have blamed mods like optifine but I do not run that.
I mentioned earlier that I tried older versions of GPU drivers, this seems to help for 1 day, using an old GPU driver and playing the game seems to fix it but after 1 day the glitches happen again.
I have contacted mojang but they were uninterested in my issue and essentially told me not to contact them.
If anyone has any information on a solution please let me know. I will respond to, and, add more information in the comments if anyone needs them.
For anyone interested - turning off NZXT CAM software fixed this for me. If anyone is having these issues but don't use this software I suggest playing around with any RGB controlling software and any programs that monitor/change CPU/GPU clock speeds or case/CPU/GPU fans speeds.
