Minecraft has always been at a good performance for me, but I recently have been watching more Minecraft YouTubers and I saw that their FPS was usually at least 200. I usually get about 40-60 in server lobbies and 80-120 in servers in the wild. The only reason I didn't look into my FPS was because I didn't think it was physically possible to get anything above 200 FPS on a PC/laptop worth less than $2000. I still would have thought that if it wasn't for a couple of days ago, when my FPS went to 400-500 in the wild of Arcade Wars. It was steady, too, which was weird, considering my laptop struggled sometimes to get over 80. It stayed around 400 until I logged off. When I logged back in a day later, it was back to 80 or so FPS. Why isn't my laptop at peak performance, and what can I do to get it there?
(EDIT) As I was writing this, I left Minecraft open, and when I clicked it, the FPS was at steady 300, spiked to 800 and then went back down. Fans turned on but overheating wasn't an issue. Went back to 100 when I clicked back to this. Did this three times in the time it took me to type this. It always seems to run faster in the background...
