First off, I would like to say that I am a linux n00b. I can follow commands, but I can't resolve this problem on my own. Minecraft says something about not being able to connect to the internet, and doesn't launch. This is the first install of Minecraft after the update. Use Java 8.

I installed Java 8, and it still shows the same message

Then it's an issue with Java certificates, update them.

Sorry, I'm not good at Linux :/ How do you do that?

Remove and update your Certificates

Install openJDK-8 uninstall Java 11 stuff if needed
