Hey, just yesterday i upgraded to windows 10. I lost a ton of my files and just realized i lost all my mine craft worlds, im super bummed. Ive tried everything, restoring my minecraft to a previous date, but i didnt have any previous backups, is there a hidden folder where my worlds are located? I went into C: / Users/ User and managed to find some of my old files (music pictures) but i have no clue where my minecraft worlds would be located, Help!
To locate your MC files, Press Win+R, then type "%appdata%". navigate to the .minecraft directory, and look for the folder labelled "saves". your worlds should be in there.
If the above doesn't help then they are gone unless you backed them up, the windows update software does warn you to make backups as losses can happen when upgrading an OS, infact you should always make a backup when changing from one OS to another
