Hello, I have just purchased a relatively cheap laptop and was considering getting Minecraft for it. I have played a lot of the game, mostly pocket edition, but I don't know how everything works on PC. I read up on differences between Java and Bedrock, and understand the difference. I would be fine running either.
I downloaded the demo on the website because I was not sure if it would run smoothly enough to be worth my money. To my surprise, it fluctuated between 48 and 60 FPS, sometimes 45 for a few seconds. I am fine with this, but I would like to know if the full game would function the same.

If the demo version works, then full game should work as well. But did you make sure your computer meets Minecraft's system requirements https://help.mojang.com/customer/en/portal/articles/325948-minecraft-java-edition-system-requirements
