Recently I got a new laptop. It can run games like Destiny 2 and Overwatch relatively well, but for whatever reason it can’t handle Minecraft.
Periodically while playing, the entire game will freeze for 3-5 seconds. Minecraft usually takes about 60% GPU, but when these freezes happen the GPU useage drops to 0% for the duration of the freeze, and then jumps to 100% right as I regain control, before dropping back down to 60% shortly after.
edit: and occasionally, if I have too many particle effects going on, the computer just says “screw it” and no longer plays the game. Minecraft goes Not-Responding and I have to restart it.
I have not had this problem with any previous computers I have owned. Can anyone tell me why this is occurring, and what I can do to fix the issue?
Computer specifications:
Intel Core i7
16 GB of RAM
Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620 (I believe this is the graphics card?)
128 MB VRAM
Let me know if there is anything else I need to tell you.

Post a screenshot with F3 enabled and your JVM arguments.
It doesn’t crash... the game just goes white and becomes “not responding,” so I have to restart it.
