I am trying to play modded with optifine and forge(the versions are compatible) but no luck. Forge simply acts like optifine is not there. And yes, I have tried deleting .minecraft but still, no luck. I have played with optifine and forge before, if that's helping. Any suggestions? If there are other fps booster mods(I know betterfps) write that down 2.
If you want Optifine and forge, you just drop the Optifine jar in the mods folder for the version of forge that you are using. If you install Optifine, it will create a separate install folder that will have nothing to do with the version of forge you have installed.

I did that. Forge simply dosent recognize optifine, like it's not even in the mods folder.
Strange, I don't think anything has changed with Optifine since the last time I used it, which was a while ago. As long as the version matches and it's in the correct mods folder, it should load with all the other mods unless something is blocking it. Check your forge client log and see if there are any messages about Optifine being blocked or not loaded for some reason.

In your forge install folder should be a folder called logs, in that folder will be a bunch of files, most likely you want to look at the ones called debug.log or latest.log, they are probably very large text files, it's best to open them in Notepad++ which is free. Search the files for any mention of optifine and look at what is listed. If there is no mention of optifine in either log file, then you don't have optifine installed in the instance of forge.
