I am currently trying to run Minecraft at the following specs:
Render Distance: 8
Graphics: Fast
Smooth Lighting: Off
Resolution: 1920x1080
I also have some settings in Optifine tweaked, but they're tweaked to be pretty average.
The specifications of my machine is as followed:
8GB DDR4 RAM
Nvidia 940MX GPU
Intel Core I5-7200U
And before you ask, I have updated my drivers, and I have made sure Minecraft and Java are running off my GPU.
If you want to know how bad this is, I can look straight down on a superflat world with a Render Distance of TWO and only get around 58 FPS.
(Nothing is wrong with my GPU, this machine can play Fortnite 1080p low settings at around ~70 FPS.)
Screenshot of F3 pulled up on my SMP server attached:
Also it might be worth mentioning that even though I don't have Vsync enabled, my Minecraft doesn't really go past 60 FPS... Tested this with default texture pack because I get higher FPS using that
Seriously though, I don't know how to turn off the overlay. Something else I also just noticed is that when I have Minecraft running in the background, I can go back to it and it says I have 100ish FPS, but then it immediately drops back to 40 FPS. Don't know if this means anything.
Everything on the Googles tells me that I can disable it here, but there's nothing about disabling an overlay, so I don't really know what to do anymore...

Post a screenshot with F3 enabled and your JVM arguments.

Disable GeForce experience overlay.
How...? Will this actually fix all my problems?!

If I were to guess there should be plenty of tutorials out there on the Googles.
