This game is horribly unoptimized! I'm playing survival mode and I will get random stutter on my PC. I have everything on max settings and I'm playing at 2560x1440. My FPS varies from 70fps to 144 maximum. When I get the stutter my fps will drop in the 40 range and immediately spike back up. I downloaded the latest Java 64bit version yet even with that I still get stutters. I also noticed with MSI Afterburner that my GPU usage for this game is very low around 15% and my CPU usage is very low as well. The game is installed on my SSD so storage bottleneck is out of the question. There was also one point I died and re-spawned and had to close out the game and restart it because I had a loop of stuttering.
My specs is:
CPU: Intel i7 8700K @5.1GHz
GPU: GTX 1080 Ti
RAM: 16 GB DDR4 @4200MHz
SSD: Samsung 960 Pro 1TB M.2
OS: Windows 10 Pro x64 version 1803
This performance issue i'm having with this game is beyond ridiculous considering my high end hardware i'm running it on. Paying 26.95 USD is also ridiculous for a game which is literally unplayable for me.
post a screenshot of the F3 screen and any java arguments to allocate ram to minecraft if you have changed that setting, disable GeForce experience overlay
I checked that link and looked at point 4 and I don't have any graphics glitching. I uploaded 2 short videos on Youtube. One showing the stuttering with MSI Afterburner overlay so you can see my GPU, CPU, and RAM usage, and another with the Minecraft overlay enabled.
Here is a video with MSI Afterburner overlay
Here is Minecraft F3 overlay
from what i see in those videos is the game is running pretty well, apart from when you die and the game is re rendering the massive chuck render distance you have set and maxing out on the ram.
lower the render distance, or allocate more ram to the game.
and yes minecraft is badly optomized, this has been the case for years and is being worked on bit by bit, just have to not use max everything untill Mojang can work out how to get java to play nice
