Minecraft launcher won't proceed into the game - Java Edition Support - Support - Minecraft Forum

Member Details
So I haven't been able to launch Minecraft, FTB, Technic, etc for a couple of days now. I have tried re-installing Minecraft, updating all graphics drivers, updated Java, and still can't figure out the problem.
All these launchers are leaving an error i'll include below saying the problem isn't within the Java Virtual Machine but in the native code, at least i thinks that's what i'm reading.
If anyone is able to interpret this error log and figure what the problem is it would be greatly appreciated.
Specs:
Windows 10 Home 64-Bit (I don't know why it says Windows 8.1 in this log??)
12GB RAM
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7500U CPU @ 2.7GHz, 2901MHz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
Intel(R) HD Graphics 620
NVIDIA GeForce 940MX
If there's anything else i need to add let me know. I'm new to forums so i'm not exactly sure how this all works. Thanks for any help.

Do you mean to tell it to run through the NVIDIA card?
Cause when i do that i get another issue where my launcher has a black screen. I originally had this problem but switching to Intel graphics fixed it.

Did you change the compatibility mode of the launcher? (right-click on the shortcut, select preferences, and then the compatibility tab?)

Just selected windows 8 for compatibility mode now. The launcher works fine now and launches Minecraft. But once the main menu of Minecraft has loaded it freezes and the program doesn't respond.
Sorry but it won't generate crash reports either

FIXED IT
So turns out it was an incompatible program, but it wasn't on that list in the link you sent me.
I thought i'd try uninstalling all the recent programs i had installed and after uninstalling Duet Display it started working perfectly again.
I'm curious now to know if others have this issue, maybe this should be added to that incompatible software list.
Anyway, thanks for all the help.
