Note: The associated driver (Graphics) is old. I had to downgrade it and got the error. The latest driver as per Windows was previously installed and had the exact same problem!
Your computer is too old for windows 10, hence no drivers, but also below the requirements for minecraft, new computer time
I do not agree. Other than Minecraft, there's not a single app which fails in that computer, in Windows 10. I also have SSD for which there's a bona fide driver ; a bunch of utility and office software which has been working perfectly.
This is atypical. Blame the OS, the hardware but do not accept the incompetency of the development team. Just for your information - even a small Oracle Express working alongwide IBM RAD is installed - which works fine.
Google the issue and there's a whole thread of many, many having this issue. What Minecraft does - blame the computer and the drivers.
If thats the case then ask intel why there are no drivers for their gpu on windows 10, they will answer its because the hardware is discontinued and 10 years old.

So - Minecraft knows the system requirements - you've confirmed it. Excellent. However, they make you PAY first and then you download the software. The software during installation doesn't do any checks. After installation - when trying to execute - fails to load. Sorry - I might be the biggest dumb guy here but the software can't do a GPU compatibility check BEFORE install? Apparently, there are so many users having this that they have a procedure outlined in support on how to analyze and submit but still they can't do any preliminary checks? Finally, why make a consumer pay FIRST ; ideally they should have allowed the installation and during activation required me to pay.
You do realise there is a demo version which means you can test before you buy?
And the game does not 'know' the requirements, its just fails when it tries to do something and crashes, if it 'knew' it would give an error with a reason not a crash log.
As for the game not checking hardware on install thats down to Mojangs choice, not all software does this, infact i don't remember last time i saw software say its checking compatibility apart from when i ran a separate checker program for windows 10

Virtually every software outthere that you pay for has you pay before download unless there is a trial version... You act like this is unusual, but the reality is it is very VERY common.
I have NEVER seen a SINGLE game EVER check hardware requirements during installation. This would be incredibly stupid too because it is possible to get some software working reasonably well on lower than required hardware, not always, be sometimes (Not in your case though), or perhaps the hardware checker fails to properly identify hardware, or as has happened before, the software get to be old and thinks newer hardware is insufficient. It is not practical to program in a foolproof hardware check.
They have a procedure because unfortunately the vast majority of people in the world are, lets be honest, rather inept with computers.

Try this logic next time you go to the store for something. See how far you get. Your logic is so backwards, it is literally laughable.
In store I am allowed to return ... here my 2 emails to Minecraft and zero response on returns.
I am the father of the child wanting this software. He has the Pocket Edition in iPhone, XBox edition, Apple TV edition. He is presumably the lead in his classroom when it comes to Minecraft. He wants it in his PC - which is where we are having the problem. I am simply put - extremely frustrated. I had offered him Minecraft Windows 10 apparently written in C++ using native Windows code (something BTW i am very familiar with) but he tells me its a useless version compared to Java edition. I really don't want to spend +500$ just for Minecraft!!

Then don't spend $500 just for minecraft. Spend it to improve ALL computing functions you currently do, and it just so happens, Minecraft will actually work that time.
Or don't, but either way, this isn't Mojang's fault, it is yours and yours alone.

Cast aside your festive doylaks: dragon stuff is about to happen.

In what way its my fault? Its my fault that the company CHARGES quite a bit for a game but doesn't offer phone/email support but some form I need to fill out? Its geared for usage by children but then asks them to perform complex diagnostics? Why don't I pay Mojang $500 so that the idiot developers can do a better job instead? Which PAID product throws back to client a screwed up Java exception instead of a human readable error message? Which PIAD software doesn't offer an opportunity to upload directly from the software the error logs instead of having to go thru X, Y, Z? Which PAID software offers as a form of support a forum where folks like you having an ego are moderators?

Thanks. But have asked my son to move to Roblox.
Thanks. That helps.
The Mojang form is a contact form which starts an email conversation with their support, they do not offer phone support because they are a small company based in Sweden, and the cost to run a 24/7 line that doesn't cost a fortune for anyone in the world to call would need so much money and man power its not feasible for Mojang to do.
Also please remember this forum is not Mojang run, it is owned and run by Curse/Twitch and everyone here is helping others in their free time for no comeback (Only 1 staff member of this forum is paid, and he is the one who stated the forum and then gained employment with curse when they purchased the forum from him)
Now the issue has been resolved as far as possible here, lets end it now and let Mojang deal with the refund.
Here's the output from DXDIAG: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/kjm33HjT78/

There are NO other drivers @ Intel.

https://help.mojang.com/customer/en/portal/articles/325948-minecraft-java-edition-system-requirements shows the requirements for minecraft and as you will see your computer does not meet them

In fact you are eligible for a refund as per Mojangs policy https://help.mojang.com/customer/en/portal/articles/359338-mojang-refunds-policy
But mind their response time https://help.mojang.com/customer/portal/articles/359446-when-will-i-hear-back-
A laptop that will run Minecraft Java decently can be purchased for around $200 at Walmart, less if you find a used one on ebay.
