My brother has an error where he usually crashes when opening minecraft. It crashes on the Mojang screen after getting the dreaded "Not Responding." Occasionally he can get past this screen, but when he does, he still can't join servers, without getting the io.netty.channel.abstractchannel$annotatedConnectException: connection timed out: no further information: error message.
He can open up minecraft and load servers if he uses the Technic Mod Pack Launcher, but he wants to open it back up with his normal minecraft launcher. Can anyone help us?

what version of minecraft is he on? what device is he playing on?
He's playing on 1.12, but we've tried multiple versions to no prevail and also, he's playing on an Alienware laptop.
