I am using MultiMC to make my own instance and even though I am allowing 14G in the settings it is only using 12474 MB when it is loading. I have about 325 mods going and I keep crashing in game when the RAM usage gets up to 13G in the task manager. Is there a limit to the max RAM I can allocate or is there any other way to allow for more RAM usage?
Some people have told me that you won't ever need to allocate more than 10G but in this build my RAM usage reaches 13G after about 30 seconds to a minute and then I get a crash.
Yeah sorry I couldn't find the tags/flair to add to the post but I am using 1.12.2. So why is my build using so much RAM? There are quite a lot of mods, around 325 but like I said, in the task manager the java reaches up to 13G and then it will crash. If I allocate only 4G I imagine it will crash before it even loads.
EDIT: I lowered it to 8G and now in task manager it gets to almost 11G and I still get a crash. Maybe it's not because of memory and perhaps it's just mod conflicts but I feel like it's a memory error.
You're loading way too much mods, remove several mods.

Curse PremiumYou should never allocate that much memory to MC. Java cannot handle large amounts of memory. It causes more trouble than solutions.
You didn't state what version of MC your playing. Use this as a guide. Also NEVER allocate more than half the PC's system RAM.
1.7 or lower______1-2G
1.8-1.9__________2-3G
1.10-1.12________3-4G (or more)

The OP's PC hardware also plays a factor in this too.
Joey4Track, do you mind posting a DXDiag report? Also, do you have 64 bit Java installed?

Thanks, I just removed a few mods and now I am floating around 10G-11G and getting no crashes. I am happy enough with that result, appreciate the help
